Book Week 2026 - Little Miss and Mr Men and PJ Day
August 2026
Our Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Psychology team love getting involved in the fun!
Recently, our team dressed up for Book Week, Little Miss & Mr Men Day and Pyjama Day, bringing plenty of colour, creativity and fun into the clinic.
These special days are a great opportunity for our team to connect with children in a relaxed and playful way, while celebrating their interests and encouraging participation. We believe therapy should be engaging, enjoyable and meaningful — and sometimes that means wearing your favourite pyjamas or dressing up as a much-loved character!
We loved seeing everyone’s creative costumes and sharing the excitement with the children and families we support.
Parent Information Evening at Avenues Early Learning Cannon Hill
July 2026
Caitlynn, Kristy and Cass recently had the opportunity to attend a Parent Information Evening at a local early learning centre, connecting with families, educators and other allied health professionals within our community.
The evening was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge, provide practical education and have open conversations with parents about supporting children’s development, wellbeing and everyday participation.
We loved connecting with other local allied health businesses and working together to share ideas, resources and different perspectives that can support children and families.
Thank you to Avenues Early Learning Centre, Cannon Hill for inviting us and to all the parents and professionals who joined the conversation. We love opportunities to connect, collaborate and support our local community!
NAIDOC Week at Beenleigh State School
July 2026
We were so excited to be invited to be part of Beenleigh State School’s NAIDOC Week celebrations!
Beenleigh State School is a community we are lucky enough to visit each week, so it was especially meaningful to come together and celebrate such an important event with the students and school community.
Our OT and Speech teams spent the day getting creative with the students. Together, we decorated dot-painted boomerangs and created colourful native Australian animal face masks. The students got stuck into the activities with plenty of creativity, colour and, of course… SO much glitter!
Our Psychology team created brain caps with the students and explored a fun activity about how superheroes calm down after a busy day of crime fighting. This gave students practical strategies for recognising and working through the different feelings they may experience throughout their school day.
We also had the opportunity to learn, connect and celebrate alongside the wider school community, making the day a wonderful opportunity to come together and recognise the importance of NAIDOC Week, culture, history and community.
We are so grateful to Beenleigh State School for inviting Unearth QLD to be part of their NAIDOC Week celebrations. We loved spending the day creating, connecting and celebrating with a community we are proud to work alongside each week.
Term 2 Group Therapy Fun
July 2026
We wrapped up Term 2 group therapy at Unearth QLD with lots of fun, creativity, connection and learning!
Across the term, our groups gave children opportunities to build social, emotional, communication, motor and problem-solving skills through engaging, hands-on activities.
Our Term 2 groups included:
Speed Friending – practising conversation, getting to know others and building social confidence.
Fidget Trading – developing social skills, turn-taking, communication and flexible thinking through a favourite childhood activity.
Prep Readiness – building the skills and confidence children need for a successful transition to school.
Inventors Group – encouraging creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and flexible thinking as children designed and created their own ideas.
Craft Group – developing fine motor skills, creativity, planning and social connection through hands-on craft activities.
We loved seeing the children connect, create, problem-solve and grow together throughout the term.
A huge thank you to all the families who joined us — we can't wait to see what our groups get up to next term!
Easter Fun at Unearth!
March 2026
Easter has arrived at Unearth QLD, and there’s plenty of fun happening around the clinic!
Guess the Bunnies! Have you had a guess at how many bunnies are hiding in our tins? Make sure you ask Coralea or Charlee for a closer look! You can make a new guess every time you visit Unearth, right up until 1 April.
Easter Holiday Fun Make sure you check out the posters in reception for some fun Easter activities happening around the school holidays!
We can’t wait to see everyone getting into the Easter spirit!
Parents Group
February 2026
Our FREE monthly Parent & Carer Catch-Up kicked off last week, and we loved creating a space for parents and carers to connect, chat and enjoy some much-needed adult conversation!
This is a relaxed opportunity to meet other parents and carers, share experiences, find support and enjoy a coffee — because sometimes you just need a cuppa and a chat with someone who gets it!
If you're a parent or carer of a child with a disability and you're looking for connection, support, adult conversation and caffeine, you're welcome!
Coming Up: Mother’s Day Morning Tea! We’ll also be hosting a special Mother’s Day Morning Tea as part of our Parent & Carer Catch-Up. A chance to slow down, enjoy a cuppa, connect with other mums and carers, and celebrate the incredible work you do every day.
Come along, grab a coffee and connect with our community!
Unearth QLD Bali Life Foundation Trip
January 2026
Earlier this year, members of our Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology teams travelled to Bali to partner with the Bali Life Foundation and support their work with local children and families.
We packed our bags with more than just clothes — we brought along a range of therapy resources, games, activities and essential items to donate to the children and families supported by the foundation.
During our time in Bali, we had the opportunity to visit one of the local orphanages and spend time connecting with the children, mothers and volunteers. We shared activities, played games, explored resources and, most importantly, spent time building genuine connections with the community.
It was incredibly special for our OT and Speech teams to share their skills and knowledge while learning from the wonderful people and volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting these families.
We are so grateful to the Bali Life Foundation for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of the incredible work they do.
It was an experience filled with connection, laughter, learning and plenty of memories that our team will carry with us for a long time.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us collect and donate resources and essential items for the trip. Together, we were able to make a small difference for a community doing such meaningful work.
Happy Holidays From Unearth Qld
December 2025
Happy holiday season from our Unearth family to yours! We’re wishing all our families a safe, happy and relaxing break. We hope you get plenty of time to rest, recharge and enjoy time together.
After a big year, our team decided to put our own teamwork, problem-solving and brain power to the test at Prison Island Escape Rooms!
There were plenty of laughs, challenges and some very questionable problem-solving along the way!
We’re so proud of everything our team has achieved this year and incredibly grateful for the families and communities who have trusted us to be part of their journey.
From our Unearth family to yours — have a wonderful holiday season!
Book Week 2025 - Winnie The Pooh
We had lots of fun celebrating Book Week at Unearth QLD by bringing the magical world of Winnie the Pooh to life!
Our team got into the spirit with Winnie the Pooh and friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, turning the clinic into a little adventure of our own.
The children loved seeing their therapists dressed up, spotting their favourite characters and sharing in the excitement of Book Week. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading, imagination, storytelling and play.
From Pooh Bear's adventures to our own little Unearth adventures, we loved seeing so many smiles throughout the day!
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
We love creating opportunities for children to connect, have fun and experience the magic of books beyond the pages!
